This is a Little Girl who has had the wildest dreams ever since she was little. Looking back on those times when what I dreamed of became a reality. Please just sit tight and read along.
With her hair tangled in the wind and laughter drifting along village paths like music, she was the girl who ran barefoot through the red soil. Dreaming of a world beyond the hills enclosing her house, she excitedly pursued dragonflies and counted stars from the mat spread out under the open sky. Her days followed the cadence of life under the African sun, gathering water in yellow jerrycans alongside other girls her age, deftly balancing them on her head as they laughed and discussed dreams too grandiose to fit into any one story. Yes, she was small, but she was strong in her mind. Though her world might have been small by the standards of the map, to her, it was everything: the aroma of her mother’s cooking from the outdoor kitchen, the drumming during ceremonies, the way elders told stories that made the night feel holy. She thought she might be anything, a teacher, a dancer, a healer, perhaps even a woman who flew across oceans. Her mind knew only the vast canvas of possibility, not any limitations.
Still, even with her freedom, she sensed the gentle weight of the world observing her evolve. Whispers, hopes, and unspoken rules were present: how to shrink when necessary, how to talk, how to sit. Still, she had dreams. She wasn’t aware yet that one day, others would seek to define who she was permitted to be. She knew then only that her heart thudded loudly when she sang, when she led games when she ascended taller than the boys and dared the sky to hold her. That optimistic girl with bright eyes wasn’t only getting by; she was creating her own inside it. She lived confidently in events and thought nothing was out of her reach. She was just love and wide-eyed amazement; she knew no anguish or restrictions. She was the girl who dreamed unrestrained in a world that had yet taught her to be little. And even now, that girl is still living somewhere within the woman I’m growing into.

Since each person has a different health path, what helps one person may not help another.
